Community Conversations is an innovative community involvement and engagement model co-developed by the RSS and Family Hub to help researchers connect with and involve people from underserved communities, before submitting a grant application.
This approach ensuraces research proposals are informed by real experiences and community insights. Working closely with community partners, we create welcoming environments where conversations can flourish.
Community members with lived experiences, take part in two interactive and informal sessions. These sessions are carefully co-designed to encourage open discussion and meaningful input that shapes the research application.
The People and Communities Advisory Board is made up of ten public members, each bringing a diverse range of experiences and perspectives. The board plays a vital role in the governance and delivery of the RSS and SCPH, guiding and overseeing the translation of public and patient perspectives into decision-making processes.
The board ensures public voices are heard, valued and reflected in the development of policies, practices and research. Members play a key role in providing feedback, directly influencing RSS processes and advocating for equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility.
